Suzanne London

Suzanne London

Suzanne is an athlete in every sense. She is a 2:48 marathoner and 1:22 half marathoner. She is a leader in the run community and especially the Franklin Road Runners. Prior to the 2013 run group merger she was one of the Team Weber speedsters.

On September 24, 2024 she invited me in to her beautiful downtown Franlin home. We decided on the cramped but visually interesting sunroom to setup the interview. I wish I got a shot of the setup, but it was a hot mess and we had to do some redecorating.

Despite her competetive nature, she understands the benefits of running social. Her interview was so endearing and warm and really showed how Seth has united so many from elite athletes to beginners. Suzanne shared how she would be out for a run and see “Seth’s Run Friends” and how it looked like they were having so much fun.

To see her face light up when she said “Seth” just shows how much he means to her both as a friend and a leader/mentor. While she said she was nervous about the interview, it did not show on screen and her story was a great addition to the whole.

I would always see him out on a run and I thought, ‘that group looks cool.’ Then somehow we just all became the Franklin Road Runners and Seth was the leader.

Suzanne was one of the recruits I got from the 2024 Mercy Franklin Classic. She had just finished 2nd among all women and 1st in her division. She and I didn’t know each other too well before, so I am sure she was taken aback when I asked her to participate in this documentary. After she gave it some thought, she eventually said yes and I am so glad she did.

While not fun to think about, she did indicate that she would always carry on Seth’s legacy when the time comes or when he is off running in another state. She would be a great ambassador to bring up the next generation of social runners and she has a great mentor in Seth.
