Jill Mongene

One of the first members of Seth’s Run Friends or “Seth’s Babes,” Jill was another person I knew of but I don’t know if I had ever met before. I am so glad that she responded to my Facebook message and agreed to participate.

The second of my September 25, 2024 interviews, Jill shared many nuggets of the history of the Franklin Road Runners and the original run friends. It was fun to see the synergy of Seth’s story, Leslie’s story and Jill’s story.

As I said in earlier posts, I had not been participating much in the run group leading up to this project, so I was unaware that Jill had moved away for many years and recently came back. In fact, she just closed on her “forever” home in Franklin, so go say hi to Jill at the next group run.

Seth is like a mother and a father figure to us…he is a true people-person.

One of the great things about this project is you are “forced” to sit down and have conversations with people. Although there is tech all around you during the interview, it is cool that someone has carved out time in their day to talk without much distraction. I found a true friend in Jill after our hour together. I leaned into her quite a bit getting the finishing touches done on this project. I look forward to what the future holds for her on the next chapter of life.

Her stories about Seth sounded more like a family member than a friend. That is something truly unique and I am so glad that she was able to share that with the world. While not mentioned in our interview or on the documentary, but Jill was the founder of Fleet Feet in Nashville 23 years ago!

She was a great champion of the film and I am forever grateful for her.
