On October 4, 2024 I was able to meet up with Alicia in her and we had this terrific natural light setup on her back porch. She has known Seth for over a decade and their friendship shines through this doc and conversation.
Alicia was one of those people that I knew from a distance. We were both in the political arena at the same time so there was some correspondance with that, but I don’t think I ever spent much time hanging out or running with her.
As I have said time and time again on these posts, I will say it again here: I am so glad Alicia said yes. Her story was so perfect and pure. She shared how she went through a similar situation with her dad having a bike accident and the parallels of that with Seth. She shared about how she didn’t realize that she met her match in dedication to showing up to workouts in Seth.
He’s like the Franklin Road Runners’ godfather. When he’s not there, there’s a little loss.
My favorite aspects of this interview was how comfortable she was. It felt more like two people sharing a coffee than a formal interview. I told her this at the premiere, but I loved how after she gave her personal message to Seth, she put her head to her fist and smiled. This showed what a meaningful person Seth is to her.
Alicia is still a school board member and she also runs a non-profit that helps meet the needs for school-age kids.
