On October 5, 2024, with the help and direction of Crystal Pesce, one of the Franklin Road Runners‘ leaders, we took advantage of Seth being in Minnesota that day.
My goal here was just to gather personal messages and to be respectful of other’s schedules since it was very difficult for many to carve out 1-2 hours during the week for a formal interview. This was the perfect treasure trove I was looking for. Specifically, I wanted some more diversity in race and gender. I am happy I got George and Stephen to step up to the camera and offer their perspectives.
Kelly and her ladies were great because you got to see how a chance encounter at Pinkerton Park with Seth changed her whole friend circle. She was able to meet Tricia, Mellisa, Mary Catherine and others who became her run friends and it was great to see them all on camera together.
Melissa, Allison, Christine and Tish also shared their stories about how Seth has impacted them both as runners and also as humans. While most of these were meant just for Seth, we included them in the theatrical release. This is what we call “Chapter 5” of the film and there was a bit of debate whether we included it before or after the credits. Because it was so long, we decided to keep it before the credits. It was nice to put them all together to solidify to Seth how loved and appreciated he is.
